DAILY IFÁ brings the teachings of Odù Ifá and the Òrìṣà into conversation with the lives we lead today: our relationships, responsibilities, uncertainties, ambitions, and spiritual development.
Through weekly reflections and a growing video academy, I explore what these traditions can help us understand about ourselves and the choices before us.
The work welcomes newcomers, initiated practitioners, and readers seeking a deeper understanding of African and Afro-diasporic spiritual thought.
The person behind DAILY IFÁ
My name is Baba Tilo de Àjàgùnnà. I am a Babaláwo and Babalórìṣà, rooted in Brazilian Òrìṣà and Ifá traditions, with a strong connection to Candomblé. I live near Munich, Germany, where I write, study, and teach for an international community.
My perspective is also shaped by family life, sport, and professional responsibilities. These experiences continually return me to the practical questions of spiritual life: how we exercise authority, care for others, respond to difficulty, and remain accountable for our conduct.
As a contemporary practitioner, I am interested in how inherited teachings can illuminate those questions while retaining their cultural and spiritual depth.
The weekly newsletter
Published on Saturdays, the DAILY IFÁ newsletter explores contemporary subjects through Odù narratives, Òrìṣà mythology, and philosophical reflection.
A teaching may open a conversation about love, grief, identity, prosperity, leadership, or the difficulty of making a decision. Throughout these reflections, I return to Orí, the inner head associated with personal destiny, and ìwà pẹ̀lẹ́, good character expressed through our relationships and actions.
The intention is to offer enough context and interpretation for you to think carefully about a teaching and consider its relevance to your circumstances.
DAILY IFÁ ACADEMY
The Academy provides a structured route into individual Odù and Òrìṣà through video teachings of approximately fifteen to twenty minutes.
Each episode introduces selected myths and explores their spiritual meaning and relevance to human experience. Attention is given to differences among sources, regions, and lineages, including the ways teachings have travelled between Africa and the diaspora.
The programme is being developed to cover all 256 Odù Ifá and more than 50 Òrìṣà and related sacred figures.
The complete sixteen-part Ògbè family is already available to supporting subscribers. A free introductory video is available to everyone.
The research behind the teaching
For more than fifteen years, I have gathered and studied written sources across languages, libraries, and traditions. This work underpins both the Academy and my continuing book project on the 256 Odù Ifá.
Preparing these materials involves more than translation. Historical vocabulary, inconsistent spellings, incomplete scans, and differences in ritual context all require attention. Where sources disagree, understanding the difference can be as valuable as identifying what they share.
I respect oral transmission and the relationships through which knowledge is entrusted. The written and video resources offered here provide context, support further study, and help readers develop more informed questions.
Digital tools assist with translation, language revision, and audiovisual production. The teaching videos use synthetic narration. I select the material, determine the editorial direction, and take responsibility for the published interpretations.

A supporting subscription provides access to the published Academy teaching library and the member-only newsletter archive. As further episodes are published, they become part of the growing collection available to supporting readers.
The newsletter and Academy belong to the same DAILY IFÁ publication. One supporting subscription covers the member-only content in both.
Membership also contributes toward acquiring sources, preparing texts, producing the videos, and maintaining the project.
