Dear readers,

Life is made of choices, and every choice reveals our priorities. In relationships—whether friendships, love, family, or work—prioritization does not mean constant availability. Instead, it defines whether we are truly valued or merely an option in someone’s life. If we keep our commitments open-ended, always looking for something better, we silently declare that we are not fully invested. Likewise, when someone tells us they "don’t have time" for us, what they really mean is that something else is more important.

But what does Ifá teach us about priorities? The wisdom of Odu Ifá tells us that the things we truly commit to shape our destiny. In the sacred Odu Òtúrá Méjì, we find a story that warns us about failing to establish clear priorities.

Long ago, there was a man who constantly sought the "best" opportunity. He was gifted, talented, and lucky, but he could never make up his mind. If he had a promising business venture, he would abandon it the moment another opportunity seemed better. In love, he never fully committed, always thinking someone else might come along. His friends and family grew weary of his unreliability.
