Closing the Year with Gratitude and Vision
Honoring community, tradition, and the spirit of exchange as we close one year and welcome the next with gratitude and purpose.
Dear Friends and Family of Àṣẹ,
At first glance, it might seem unusual to extend holiday wishes on a Christian celebration from the perspective of an Afro-diasporic tradition like Ifá and Orisha worship. However, our tradition, particularly in the diaspora, is profoundly syncretic. It has survived and flourished through its deep respect for other cultures and its ability to adapt without losing its essence.
Our practice is also rooted in community. In our house, as in many others, we regularly express gratitude to the Indigenous peoples of the lands we live on, honoring their tolerance and generosity. We also remind ourselves that as individuals and as a community, we embody the Orisha.
In this spirit, I want to thank you all—readers, supporters, and fellow seekers—for this past year. Thank you for your patience as you explored the wisdom of this tradition. Thank you for sharing your experiences, for commenting, and for your understanding when I couldn’t meet every request.
This spiritual network we’ve built together, invisible yet tangible, now spans many countries and cultures. It inspires me daily, helping me see the sun in challenging moments, offering hope that light will always find its way, and fueling my creativity for new projects.
Looking Ahead to 2025
In the coming year, I’ll continue to write my newsletters. Based on your feedback, I’ll make them biweekly for all free subscribers and weekly for supporting subscribers. I’m always open to suggestions for improvement, so please feel free to share your thoughts.
I want to extend a special thanks to those of you who support this work financially. Your contributions enable us to offer free spaces, training, and individual rituals in our spiritual center in Germany. They also allow me to dedicate time and resources to sharing knowledge more broadly.
A Journey of Knowledge Sharing
The newsletters will remain focused on everyday topics and philosophical reflections, presented in an accessible way.
For those seeking deeper insights, my blog (www.daily-ifa.blog) offers advanced teachings for both curious seekers and seasoned practitioners.
My books on Amazon continue to expand, with new volumes planned on the 256 Odu Ifá—a monumental body of wisdom with over 25,000 myths and 100,000 revelations.
Academy and Transformational Programs
In late 2025, I plan to launch an Academy featuring educational videos on Orisha, Odu, and divination systems. Later, I aim to introduce Transformational Programs, enabling spiritual growth and rituals from the comfort of your own home.
Many of you have shared the challenges of accessing traditional spiritual houses due to distance or cost. While not all rituals can be performed at home, many transformative practices are both feasible and effective in personal spaces.
As Odu Òtúrá Méjì teaches us:
"Ọmọ tó bá fẹ́ kọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ tó bá ga ju agbalagba lọ, yóò tẹ̀ lé àwọn àgbà láti kọ ẹ̀kọ rẹ̀."
A child who wishes to understand what is beyond them must follow the elders to learn.
Our tradition, rooted in the resilience of those who survived the transatlantic slave trade, must resist elitism. It thrives on accessibility, inclusivity, and humility.
A Time for Reflection and Renewal
As we approach the New Year, I wish you all moments of peace, self-discovery, and harmony. May the Orisha continue to guide you and reveal themselves in your daily lives. May they offer you opportunities to grow and help others grow. Above all, may they bring warmth and humanity to every heart.
Àṣẹ! Let us read each other again in the coming year!
A Note on Visibility
Many of you have asked why I don’t appear more often in videos or images. My reasons are both personal and philosophical:
The role of a spiritual teacher is to empower growth, not to draw attention to themselves. Ego can become a trap, weakening the integrity of our work.
I value my freedom and prefer not to be bound by the algorithms of social media.
My focus remains on my books, my spiritual group, and the work we are building together.
I am not hiding. When the time is right, I’ll appear more frequently, imperfections and all.
Thank you for being part of this journey. May 2025 bring you joy, hope, and the blessings of the Orisha.
With gratitude and blessings,
Babá Tilo de Àjàgùnnà
